The mistake we’re making here is to think that happiness is the be-all, end-all and that it is always God’s will for us to be happy, so if we find ourselves in circumstances that aren’t perfectly happy, we must have missed God’s guidance, he hasn’t given it to us yet, or somehow he’s not hearing us.

This is incredibly important in today's culture and society. If we want to be healthy  on the inside, we have to question our feelings. That seams so simple. But we are living in an age where feelings have become the unquestioned, unassailable bastions of individual truth and identity.

The most mind-boggling miracle is the incarnation. We believe that the Creator of the Universe, the one who existed before time and before anything else, became one of us. If you accept that, then there are a lot of other things that don’t seem to be quite as unbelievable.
